Close control units

Close control units for demanding applications

Product series

Close control units are always in demand when constant temperatures and humidity, continuous air exchange, and high operational reliability are required. That is why Close control units are mainly used in server rooms, IT centres, testing laboratories, museums, archives, and libraries.

Close control units with direct evaporation

IT cooling

Small IT rooms

Close control units with direct evaporation are designed for use in small and medium-sized technical and server rooms with a cooling capacity between 5 and 150 kW. Our units are equipped with state-of-the-art inverter technology or, for constant heat loads, with proven on/off technology. Various versions, such as dual-fluid and free cooling, offer maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications. In addition, various air flow patterns, such as downflow, upflow, or displacement, ensure optimal air distribution. In addition to the refrigerant R410a , we also offer a series for the refrigerant R32.

Close control units with direct evaporation for sensitive environments

The all-rounder

Laboratories, archives, libraries

Our close control unit with direct evaporation is a reliable and efficient device for rooms with high requirements for constant room conditions. This device enables stepless power control from 0 to 100% thanks to the inverter-controlled compressor and hot gas reheating. In combination with the precise control for steam humidification, constant temperature and humidity conditions can be ensured (+/– 0.3 °C and +/– 2 % RH). Units are available in upflow or downflow versions.

Large data centres

Close control units with cold water coils are always the first choice when this medium is used as a cooling agent. Cold water-cooled close control units also provide safe and efficient cooling for large data centers. In combination with our free cooling cold water chillers, this results in very high potential savings in valuable electrical energy. With a power range between 5 and 240 kW, there is a very wide range of products to choose from. Various air ducts and a multitude of options round off the portfolio.

Close control units for high temperatures and high delta T

IT cooling

Large data centres

Close control units for high temperatures and high delta T are the answer to the ever-increasing demands placed on the climate control of large data centers. With an X-shaped double heat exchanger and the resulting two-stage cooling, a water-side delta T of 10 K and more is possible. A fan module mounted in the raised floor ensures constant and reliable air distribution. Various sizes and state-of-the-art options allow for maximum flexibility in project planning.

Air is drawn in through the top of the unit. The air is blown out downwards into the existing raised floor. If there is no raised floor, it is possible to distribute the air across the floor of the room using an optional plenum below the unit.

Rooms without raised floors

Displacement units are an important addition to any room that does not have a raised floor. The air to be conditioned is drawn in at the top of the unit and fed into the room over a large area through perforated openings in the front of the unit. This ensures constant air distribution. Source air units are available in both direct evaporator and cold water versions with a power range between 10 and 50 kW.

laboratories

The air conditioning in laboratories must meet the highest standards. Environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity must therefore be continuously monitored and controlled. Close control units are the ideal choice here too.

Computer and technical rooms

Even in smaller IT, technical, and telecommunications rooms, heat loads arise that must be dissipated. With close control units cabinets, you can achieve constant heat dissipation with high operational reliability.

Precision climate control

Close control units are always in demand when constant temperatures and humidity, continuous air exchange, and high operational reliability are required. These space-saving Close control units are particularly suitable for air conditioning small and medium-sized server and technical rooms. Three possible device configurations offer flexible airflow adjustment: air outlet at the front, top, or bottom - with or without a raised floor. They are also the ideal choice for libraries and museums, protecting cultural and educational assets from damage and decay.
