Press InformationThe 2025 edition of Heiztrend profi, which once again provides a revealing insight into current trends in the heating technology market, is now available. Among other things, it deals with developments in the heat pump market. More specifically, split and monobloc systems and the question of how specialist companies that are taking the step towards heat pumps can best position themselves here.
The air-to-air heat pump is also in focus as a smart renovation solution for the housing industry - as is an old farmhouse dating back to 1865, which meets all current and future requirements of the heat transition with the help of an efficient air-to-water heat pump cascade.

Decision support: split or monoblock?
Split or monoblock?Which is the better choice?
Air/water heat pumps are divided into split and monobloc systems. But which is which? And what distinguishes the individual systems? The cover article of the latest Heiztrend profi deals with precisely these questions. It starts by explaining the difference between split and monobloc heat pumps, before going on to present the respective advantages of the two systems. As the system performance of both variants is now almost the same, specialist companies must take other factors into account when choosing the right concept. The article explains what these are.

From the field
From the fieldSuccessful renovation of an old farmhouse
Replacing a fossil heating system with a heat pump has long been part of the day-to-day business of many specialist companies. However, things get exciting when a very old house with a very diverse refurbishment portfolio and a heat supply that has grown over the years is to be brought up to date - as in the farmhouse in Lower Saxony presented here . With the help of an experienced master installer and heating engineer from Schwarme, technical building services planners and energy efficiency experts, the old farmhouse was equipped with two cascaded air/water heat pumps and made fit for the future in terms of heating.

The requirements for a modern, efficient heat supply today must also be met by numerous apartment buildings that were built in the past decades. In existing properties where a decentralized heating solution was used, this is a challenge. With decentralized air/air heat pumps , however, this task can also be solved efficiently and in a future-proof manner. The appliances can be retrofitted without great effort, apartment by apartment and independently of the existing heat distribution system. As an air/air heat pump cannot produce domestic hot water, additional concepts for domestic hot water preparation such as electronic instantaneous water heaters are important.
