Heating and Air Conditioning Solutions for Single-Family Homes and Multi-Family Buildings

Chillventa 2026 saw us take the opportunity to showcase our heating and air conditioning solutions for single-family homes and apartment blocks. One of the main attractions was the compact MSZ-RZ wall-mounted unit from the M-series, which was the top-rated product (cooling capacity category up to approx. 2.5 kW) in the May 2026 issue of the highly respected Stiftung Warentest magazine. It received particularly high grades for its heating mode, energy efficiency and environmental properties. Another M-series product on show in Nuremberg was the MSZ-LN: this well-established wall-mounted unit has been thoroughly optimised and is now available in four new colours. Users are also free to choose between R32 and R290 refrigerant. These new models deliver high energy efficiency while meeting the latest requirements in terms of design and material use. This is further reflected in the company’s other series, which have been expanded to include new indoor units, outdoor units and remote controllers in elegant black.

In addition to air-to-air heat pumps, the Mitsubishi Electric focused on the Ecodan air-to-water heat pump. As the first R290 split system, the Ecodan SUZ-SWZ model was the key highlight within this range. Its heat exchanger box, which is connected between the indoor and outdoor unit, means that propane remains entirely outside while water is used as the operating medium in the building itself. Another split system presented at the our booth was the PUZ-S(H)WM, which uses R32 refrigerant that is likewise compliant with standards. Available in the classes 18 kW and 23 kW, this solution offers a high level of planning flexibility as well as a variety of installation options. This model also features a heat exchanger box to ensure that refrigerant is exclusively used outdoors.

Innovations and proven performers for commercial settings

Flexible Systems Using R32, R290, and R744

Our R32 City Multi VRF YXM made its debut appearance in Nuremberg, impressing with its increased seasonal efficiency, planning reliability and flexibility. Low-noise operation, compact design and a holistic safety concept round off the features of this new solution.

Intended primarily for practices, shops and restaurants, the new PUMY-M outdoor units are another fresh addition to the compact City Multi VRF R32 range. Based on R32 refrigerant, these systems are characterised above all by their high flexibility and wide range of compatible indoor units.

We also unveiled an innovation for comfort applications in commercial settings: the MEHP-iB is an air-cooled, reversible air-to-water heat pump that is based on R290 refrigerant (propane) and covers a capacity range from 12 to 38 kW.

Alongside R32 and R290, R744 refrigerant (CO2) plays a key role within the company’s product range and features a GWP of 1. The range of solutions that work on the basis of R744 includes ECOV chillers for efficient, demand-oriented cooling in supermarkets, restaurants, service stations and hospitals.

Another such solution is the QAHV hot water heat pump, which was specially developed for supplying domestic hot water in the housing industry, as well as in commercial and industrial applications with a high hot water demand. As a 40 kW monoblock unit, it generates large quantities of hot water and enables domestic hot water temperatures of up to 90 °C even at outdoor temperatures as low as –25 °C.

Secure solutions in industrial applications and IT Cooling

Industry and IT Cooling

Heating and cooling technology for high-performance applications

At Chillventa 2026, Mitsubishi Electric also concentrated on solutions for industrial applications and IT cooling. The new NX3-N-G07 air-cooled reversible heat pump was at the heart of this, as were the NX3-Q-G07 air-cooled multifunction heat pumps with a 4-pipe design for outdoor installation. Based on R32 refrigerant, which complies with the corresponding standards, these newly developed heating solutions cover a capacity range from 160 kW to 1,000 kW. With respect to the air conditioning of modern IT and technology rooms, Mitsubishi Electric introduced a new model to its s-MEXT G00 DX series of climate cabinets: the full inverter air conditioning split system is now available in eight capacity classes that deliver between 6 and 55 kW of cooling power.

Future in focus

Future

One of the overarching topics at our booth was the commitment to refrigerants with a low GWP. For many years, the portfolio has been continuously expanded in accordance with the applicable requirements of the F-Gas Regulation. At the same time, we continuously enhance our compressor technology and thereby boosts the expertise in the field of heating and cooling technology. Drawing on its decades of experience, the company has extensive knowledge in the development and manufacture of refrigerant compressors – including those with advanced inverter technology. They are designed for energy efficiency and characterised by their low-noise operation.

New R290 Compressors for a Wide Range of Applications

Compact and high-performance solutions for residential and commercial use

With the new R290 scroll inverter compressors, we are expanding our portfolio for residential and commercial heat pump applications. The new models combine high performance with a compact design, a wide operating range, and low noise and vibration levels. In addition, advanced technologies featuring Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) ensure safe and reliable operation, even under demanding conditions.

We offer a range of R290 rotary inverter compressors offers a broad selection for a variety of applications. The portfolio extends from particularly compact rotary inverter compressors for refrigeration and heat pump applications to large, high-capacity models for commercial heating systems. As a result, suitable R290 solutions are available for virtually every performance and application requirement, including models equipped with Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) technology.

Abstract

Abstract

At Chillventa 2026, we presented our range of energy-efficient heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The focus was on systems using refrigerants with low GWP values. These included, among others, new and improved solutions based on R290, R32, and R744.

For residential applications, we showed air-to-air and air-to-water heat pumps, including the first R290 split system, the Ecodan SUZ-SWZ. In the commercial sector, the portfolio was rounded out by the new City Multi VRF YXM generation, the PUMY-M outdoor units, the MEHP-iB reversible air-to-water heat pump, and solutions for refrigeration and hot water production. Other key areas of focus included high-performance systems for industrial applications and IT cooling. We also introduced new R290 scroll and rotary piston inverter compressors for various capacity ranges and applications.
