Heat pump fan coil unit (radiator)
Eco convectors – for optimal heat distribution
ProduktreiheAt first glance, heat pump convectors or fan convectors resemble radiators, but they can do much more than a conventional radiator. In combination with heat pumps, they are particularly well suited for achieving the desired room temperatures even at low system temperatures. In heating mode, this ensures more efficient and therefore more cost-effective operation of the heat pump.
Our whisper-quiet and efficient i-LIFE2-SLIM Eco convectors replace existing, conventional radiators in places where surface heating/underfloor heating is hardly feasible. Together with Ecodan heat pump systems with inverter technology, they supply your home with heat particularly efficiently and, in summer, they can also be used for cooling if the appropriate model is selected. With low drive power consumption, the energy extracted from the ambient air or the ground by the heat pump is raised to a level suitable for heating and transferred to the eco convectors.
A heat pump convector works in a similar way to a radiator, as both are fed by heating water that is used to heat a room. A radiator requires higher flow temperatures and emits a large proportion of the energy into the room as radiant heat. With a heat pump convector, the flow temperatures can be significantly reduced – while still achieving high heat output. A quiet tangential fan ensures that sufficient convection heat is brought into the room despite low flow temperatures. This means that the desired room temperature is reached quickly. Lower system temperatures contribute to direct energy savings.

Heat distribution as a decisive advantage
heat distributionRadiant and convection heat in one device
The required flow temperatures play a decisive role in the choice of heat distribution system. With the i-Life system, these can be significantly reduced, as these "radiators" reliably supply the rooms with radiant and convection heat. The convection heat is indirectly transported into the room via a fan coil unit. This means that it is perceived as less intense, but is distributed more evenly throughout the room. At the same time, micro fans attached to the heat exchanger inside the eco-convection unit heat the front panel made of galvanized and powder-coated sheet steel. Similar to a radiator, the heat is then perceived as intense radiant heat.
The i-LIFE2-SLIM Eco convector combines radiant and convection heat in one device.
Good combination
synergiesEcodan heat pump system
When the Ecodan heat pump system is supplemented with i-LIFE2-SLIM Eco convectors, users benefit from low flow temperatures even without surface heating. Visually reminiscent of a simple, conventional radiator, there are also similarities in terms of functionality. Both variants use heating water to transfer heat into the room. What distinguishes them from each other is that the i-LIFE2-SLIM Eco convector uses a heat exchanger and integrated fans for heat transfer. This is what enables an accelerated convection process at low flow temperatures.
Those who pay attention to efficiency in heat generation also want to ensure that the efficiency benefits are not lost on the heat distribution side. However, it is not possible to install a surface heating system that operates at low flow temperatures everywhere. Since they are advantageous when using a heat pump, heat distribution via fan coil units is the solution. Here, too, it is possible to keep the flow temperatures low and thus reduce operating costs.
For new and old buildings – heating and cooling
possible applicationsOne solution for all situations
Whether in new buildings or old buildings undergoing renovation, the i-LIFE2-SLIM Eco convector has a wide range of applications. After all, it is more than just a solution for heat distribution. In conjunction with a reversible heat pump system and appropriately diffusion-tight insulated pipes, it can also be used for room cooling when required, with low energy consumption. In new buildings, eco-convectors are often used to supplement underfloor heating systems. However, it is also possible to map the entire heat distribution via fan coil units. This application is particularly suitable for existing buildings. Here, some radiators need to be replaced in the course of heating system renovation and hydraulic balancing. Eco-convectors are an ideal solution for increasing efficiency and reducing operating costs.
What's new: The eco-convectors can be ordered with two different connection options—left-side or right-side connection.
Understated design
design– with flexible installation
i-LIFE2 Slim Eco convectors impress with their low power consumption thanks to the brushless DC motor with inverter control, as well as their quiet operation and powerful heating and cooling performance. With five sizes and left- or right-hand connections, the fan convector series offers the right performance for every room. Regardless of the size, the Eco convector always has a discreetly low depth of just 131 mm. The low height of only 579 mm allows for easy installation in most cases, even under sloping ceilings, for example. High-quality plastic and galvanized sheet steel with an epoxy powder coating make the convector resistant to mechanical damage. The design of the units impresses with its discreet lines and the high-quality touch control surface of the controller.
